Staff Profile
Chris Leintz

My name is Chris Leintz. This is my 13th year teaching here at the Grove. 10 of those years have been spent teaching third grade, two in first, and this is my first year teaching health and P.E at the middle school.
I am married to my wife, Jessica and have two kids, Logan, 8 and Kinley 6. Together the family and I stay busy by going camping, backpacking, going on trips, and watching my kids participate in sports. I like most sports with the exception of soccer. I enjoy being outside and take in these activities or play with my kiddos when the weather allows.
Some interesting things about me are:
Nerd alert: I am a vintage video game collector. Mashing buttons is my get away from reality and works as a stress reliever. I usually partake in “saving the world from evil” when I get my kids to bed. I also take pictures of the ending scenes of games that I beat. My plan is to make a collage of these and put them on my wall. My wife and I battle head to head playing vintage tetris to often see who's more superior or who’s turn it is to do the dishes.
My family and I root for the 49ers. We try to go to a game every three years or so. I’m kinda a nut, and have only missed one game since 2005!
I enjoy watching movies and have even gone to the movies by myself.
I’m from Bismarck, North Dakota, so I root for the NDSU Bison. But when given the choice between Cats or Griz, I root for the Cats.
I am a coffee addict, and roast my own beans. There’s just something about having fresh beans on demand and you don’t have to leave the house. Buddy the Elf hasn’t visited me, because I truly think I have the “World’s best coffee!”
I absolutely love my profession. It’s a joy to come to work and interact with kids while guiding them to future success. My past 12 years in the classroom have been wonderful. I love how the community is invested in students’ education. There is nothing better when students “get it” Seeing the students’ efforts pay off when finally understanding concepts that they struggled in or didn’t understand is what motivates me. It is a pleasure interacting with students while building their confidence and watching them display it. This is the reason I come to work everyday, and why I think I’m in the most rewarding profession out there!
