Superintendent's Message

Nathan Schmitz

Nathan Schmitz

I am Nathan R. Schmitz, the Superintendent for Elder Grove. I am sincerely honored to serve this amazing community as the district's educational leader. I am firmly committed to working effortlessly to bring the highest level of educational achievement and opportunity to the students of District #8. It is my goal and commitment to help prepare students of Elder Grove and to provide a safe and inviting educational environment in which to learn.

I am married to my best friend and companion, Melanie Schmitz. We recently celebrated our 11 year anniversary and have 2 amazing children. I have always been passionate about education and working with students. Both of my boys attend Elder Grove, which means I get to share my passion for education with my boys daily. I feel incredibly blessed to have intertwined my professional and personal life with this opportunity to serve Elder Grove.

I have been in education for the last 14 years, the last 9 years as an administrator at Elder Grove School including the role of Superintendent for the last 3 years. I was involved in a new addition to the primary school in 2013 as well as oversaw the construction of the new middle school, which opened last year. I love my job because of the relationships I have built with the staff, students, and community.

I will take this opportunity to thank all of our parents, community members, and staff for providing an effective educational partnership for our children. I continue to enjoy meeting and getting to know you, the stakeholders – students, parents, faculty/staff, and residents at various locations and events.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, thank you for your partnership in supporting learning here at Elder Grove!
