This is my 18th year teaching at Elder Grove School. I did my student teaching here as well under the wonderful leadership of Mrs. Staffileno. I have completely enjoyed my time here and can't imagine teaching anywhere else. This is the perfect school for my family and I. I have taught grades 5-8. In the beginning, I had a self-contained classroom of 6th graders. With the passing of time and the growth of the school, I began to specialize in the Language Arts area, teaching reading and English. I love these subjects and feel fortunate to be able to teach what I am good at and enjoy. I also am thankful to remain in the middle school level. Middle school young adults are the best!
My husband and I currently live in the Elder Grove district. I enjoy being neighbors with many of my students. Living and working in the same area gives more of a family feel. I have two sons that attend school here, a sixth-grader and a kindergartner. What a blessing it is to teach at the school your children attend!. We have three Kemmer Stock Mountain Curs and six chickens that help make our family complete. Don't be surprised if someday you find this crazy lady walking her "ladies" down the road.
I am a Laurel High School alumnus, and I attended MSU-Billings to earn my degree. I double majored in Elementary Education and Spanish with a minor in communications. But...these days please don't ask me to communicate in Spanish! :o) I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, knitting, and spending time at our cabin in the Breaks. When I retire, my current dream is to "Buy the Bayou" and own a winter home in the south and spend summers at the cabin. Hopefully, this won't be for a while.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about me.
