Steps we have taken to work towards compliance:
- ADA Compliance Department Head has been trained on the tools available within the CMS
- ALT-Text is being placed on pictures within the website
- Working on the PDF documents to make them compliant
- Staff are being trained in ADA Compliance
- CMS provider is working on adjusting contrast on various locations on website
- 3/19/2018 - ADA Compliance Officer, Carol Phillips, attended an ADA Compliance training at MASS/META Conference.
- 3/19/2018 - Updated some content on the website
- 08/20/2018 - Reviewed policies posted on Forms & Links page to confirm we had the appropriate components
- 9/14/2018 - Ran website through Web Accessibilty Evaluation Tool. Reviewed results and made adjustments to some pictures without Alt-Text.
- 12/3/2018 - 12/4/2018 - Nathan Schmitz (Superintendent), Mike Rice (Principal), and Carol Phillips (District Technology Director) attended the MTSBA Legal & Technology Summit. This Summit included information regarding policy 4350 Accessibility & Nondiscrimination. It also covered information on ADA Compliance.
- 12/4/2018 - Carol Phillips updated the ADA Department page
- 03/2020 - Carol Phillips attended META conference and updated ADA training
- 03/22/2020 - Carol Phillips started working on transferring District Policy Manual to Google Docs and applying headings, etc
- 04/15/2020 - Carol Phillips loaded up Google Doc version of District Policy Manual. Additional work will need to be completed to confirm compliance.
- 11/18/2020 - Carol Phillips attended a brief presentation on OCR compliance, ADA Compliance, and Civil Right compliance. She will be reaching out to the presenter for more info regarding best templates for various types of documents
- 11/19/2020 - Carol Phillips & Nathan Schmitz spoke about compliance through Schoolpointe and reviewed some of the work that needs to continue.
- 03/2021 - Carol Phillips attended META conference and updated ADA training
- 03/2022 - Carol Phillips attended META conference and updated ADA training
- 04/2022 - Carol Phillips attended COSN National Conference and received ADA training
- 12/2022 - Carol Phillips attended MTSBA Legal & Technology Symposium to update ADA compliance training
- 03/2022 - Carol Phillips attended META conference and updated ADA training
- 07/01/2022 - Informed Jim Goltz, new Superintendent, of ADA Compliance process
- Summer 2022 - Present - School Board worked with MTSBA to convert over to their online policy manual
- 06/01/2023 - Worked with Kris Goss of MTSBA to update ADA Compliance message on website
