- 1st Grade
Dear Parents and Students,
I wish to welcome you to the new school year here at Elder Grove. I am going to be your child’s homeroom teacher. I always enjoy the first few weeks of school and getting acquainted with my students. I have been teaching for twenty-four years in various grade levels and I am especially excited to be back in 1st grade.
I hold a degree in Elementary Education as well as a degree in Early Childhood Development. So, I am ready for the adventures ahead. If there is anything throughout the school year that may concern you or bring about a question, please feel free to call or stop by the classroom. If your child is having difficultly with a subject or is just having a hard day, please let me know. I am a parent too, and I know that a little extra attention can go a long way. Be assured that I will do my very best to make this school experience for your child enjoyable and fun! Please allow ample time for your child to transition into 1st grade. The days are long at first but, they will adjust. Positive reinforcement and some extra help at home during the week will help your child have a successful year!
Additional information can be found on our Elder Grove School website as well. Remember, that I am here for your child. So, if there is anything more that I can do to guide your child throughout the school year successfully, please contact me. Let's work together for a terrific school year.

I am honored to teach your child. Kids…I’ll see you soon! We will have so much fun!
Sincerely, Mrs. Schumacher
